What is YGG?
Yield Guild Games (YGG) is a decentralized gaming guild acquiring non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that generate rewards from active play in blockchain games. With 30,000 scholars present in 24+ countries across the YGG network, YGG’s mission is to onboard millions of players around the world to the “play-to-earn” revolution that brings the benefits of blockchain technology to those who need them the most. YGG’s Goals:

As of May 10, YGG has over 40 game partnerships across various game genres. YGG has also partnered with other gaming guilds and essential play-to-earn infrastructure that will support the YGG player community for years to come.
YGG Regional sub-DAOs
YGG sub-DAOs are regionalized versions of YGG that are implementing specific strategies for spreading play-to-earn across different parts of the world. With these subDAOs, YGG is able to fulfill its mission of onboarding more players to the Metaverse while catering to people from different countries, cultures, and languages. This may be in the ways scholars are recruited and onboarded, up to the game partners they create that resonate the most and are able to best serve their region.
The sub-DAOs YGG SEA (YGG South East Asia), IndiGG (YGG India), and OLA GG (YGG Latin America) are region-specific branches of YGG, whereas YGGLOK (YGG League of Kingdoms) and YGGSPL (YGG Splinterlands) are game-specific sub-DAOs made up of community members who are actively participating in those games. What does the YGG Token do?
The YGG token gives people access to the play-to-earn economy. As the utility token of the YGG DAO, YGG token will perform many functions and be used for several purposes within the scope of the DAO’s activities once it is fully launched. YGG token holders can access exclusive channels on YGG Discord.
YGG’s Other Projects
Sponsor-A-Scholar
The YGG Sponsor-A-Scholar program allows organizations and individuals to help scale the positive impact of play-to-earn games, such as Axie Infinity, by contributing funds to cover the cost of creating the NFT assets needed to play. To date, YGG has partnered with partners and crypto exchanges such as FTX, and Coinbase to onboard 290 Axie Infinity scholars from developing countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Brazil, Peru, and Venezuela.
YGG Managers Cup
In October 2021, YGG launched the YGG Managers Cup, the biggest global Axie Infinity tournament with participants from the Philippines, SEA, India, Japan, LATAM, and the US. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Philippines-based child and youth welfare agency Gentle Hands, as well as three other institutions that will be chosen by the top three guilds.
Axie Bootcamp
The guild hosts weekly Axie Bootcamp sessions on Discord to help new players learn useful tips for playing the game. Out of Axie Bootcamp’s 34 episodes to date, 25 were released in Q4 2021, with an average of 80 viewers per episode. The series had more than 1,000 live participants and reached over 50,000 views in Q4.
YGG Community Streams
YGG hosted several Community streams that featured various game partners. Thetan Arena Tuesdays started in November, with six episodes released throughout the quarter. The series received approximately 20,000 total views on YouTube and Facebook.
Meanwhile, 15 episodes of the community initiative Game Hunters were released in Q4, featuring more than 15 games, both from YGG’s roster of game partners and outside.
Typhoon Odette Relief
Last December 16, 2021, Typhoon Odette (international name Rai) devastated major parts of the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. YGG Pilipinas raised US$ 1.425M from the Web3 community, including individual players, and game partners, whereas the rest of the play-to-earn community showed a united front in providing aid. YGG Pilipinas has raised US$1.45 million which was donated to various non-government organizations. The full report can be found here.
