The Good Seed by Edgy Veggy
Edgy Veggy was one of the first full-on vegetarian restaurants in Manila, back when “vegetarian” was only a single option on most menus. So you can probably say the owners know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to making healthy meatless meals.
The food is light, simple, and clean. Ingredients are all-natural, GMO and preservative free, and locally-sourced for the most part. Their coffee, for example, is locally grown and roasted from Bukidnon and Mt. Apo.
Their menu carries influences from all over the world, from vegan laksa, to cashew cheese quesadillas, to Paleo-friendly Moroccan salad. If you’re craving for something a little closer to home, they make a pretty mean Vegan Longganisa, served with garlic brown rice and homemade atchara.
Each dish is as tasty as it is creative. The menu helpfully mentions if the food is suitable for different diets, such as Paleo, lacto-ovo vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan. They also offer Ketogenic sandwiches and pizzas. To add a little more protein to your plate, you can order a side of eggs and tofu, or substitute your rice for quinoa.
Best of all, The Good Seed offers affordable frozen food packs, deli items, and healthy sauces to bring home. Try their Mushroom Sisig with their vegan bagoong or vegan patis. For snacks or dessert, bring home a pack of their energy date balls or chocolate pistachio balls.
