From opening a bank account to applying for jobs, having 1 or 2 valid government-issued IDs is a must. While there aren’t any that you can get fully online, there are a few valid IDs in the Philippines for 2022 that make the application process easier with online-integrated procedures.
Passport
Since travel is still restricted, now is actually the best time to apply for a passport as there won't be as many people in line. All you have to do is prepare your Philippine Passport Requirements, then head over to www.passport.gov.ph to fill up the application form and book yourself an appointment. From there, set a reminder on your calendar and appear for your scheduled appointment with your requirements on-hand. Be sure to bring a pen with you and ensure you practice safe social distancing!
NBI Clearance
While it doesn’t look like your standard ID card, the NBI clearance is an important document for studying abroad, applying for a job, and starting a business. In some banks, it’s even accepted as identification so you can open an account or cash-in a check.

You still need to make a personal appearance for thumbprint impressions and photo-taking, but the appointment process is now fully online saving you hours you would have spent queuing.

OFW ID
For OFWs, a membership with the OWWA is a must and it comes with its own OFW ID card. Apart from serving as a government-issued ID, this e-card gives you benefits like faster transactions with government agencies, easier access to social benefits, and convenient airport services for OFW work-related travel.
PRC ID
If you’re a new board passer, Congratulations! You can now apply for a PRC ID. You just have to make sure to register an account at https://online.prc.gov.ph/ first.
Here’s how to apply for a PRC ID online:
- Sign in to your new PRC online account then follow the registration instructions
- Select your preferred PRC regional office then wait for the system to pop up an appointment time and date
- If you’re okay with the suggested schedule, click Proceed
- If you’d like to change the schedule, click Reschedule and select a new appointment date. State your reason for rescheduling and click Confirm
- Choose your payment method and make sure that all information is correct before confirming payment.
- Print your payment confirmation slip and your accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
- Affix your signature on the forms
- Bring the following documents on your scheduled appointment
- Printed payment confirmation slip
- Printed oath form
- Community Tax Certificate
- 2 documentary stamps
- 2 passport-sized photos in white background with a full name tag
